Surprise! We’re adding puppets and cider to this bluegrass jam!

Originally developed, produced, and premiered for XPT (Xperimental Puppetry Theater) at the Center for Puppetry Arts, the Apple Corps is coming to Red’s!  

The story? “Big Apple” swoops in, trying to wipe out beautiful heritage apples like the Royal Limbertwig and Disharoon, pushing only Red Delicious. NOT COOL. Two unlikely heroes step up to defend apple biodiversity in this short puppet tale of good vs. greed.

Enjoy the show with Atlanta Hard Cider - on draft, in cans, and raffling off a goodie bag (shirt, koozie and gift card) for everyone who joins the fun.

Save the apples! Drink the cider! Play bluegrass!

This is the fourth year the GSU Neuroscience PhD students have hosted trivia at Red’s. Their mission? To collaborate with the community, translating neuroscience research into relevant service and policy efforts. We love ‘em! Come support ‘em!

Four rounds, prizes for the top three teams, and a twist-  your entry is a donation: at least $5 to Letters to a Pre-Scientist OR 2 unopened school supplies for APS.

100% of bingo card sales will be donated directly to the local non-profit, Chapter VIII. Chapter VIII is here to make veterinary care and education more inclusive and accessible, so future vets represent the communities they serve - and families (plus their pets) feel seen and supported, whether it’s for a routine check-up or emergency care.

$20 for five bingo cards

We asked what you wanted the next paint night to be - and y’all voted for the legend itself: beer!

Juleah from Southern Misfits is back and hand-cutting each beer can from wood ahead of time. You’ll send her your chosen beer can image in advance, she’ll stencil the logo and design, and then you’ll show up, paint, and make it your own.

Your Ticket Includes:

  • One 20–25” Beer Can Wood Cutout

  • All painting supplies

  • 2 hours of guided creative time

  • Wire backing for easy wall display

Before the workshop, email a high-resolution photo (or even a Google image) of your favorite beer can label to info@southernmisfitstudios.com.

We’re making 9/5 officially Dolly Day at Red’s, a nod to her iconic film, 9 to 5. We’re celebrating with a fun evening - and a reminder that speaking up, backing each other, and fighting for respect is what matters most.

7 pm: Dolly speed trivia. 10 questions all about the Queen and her schemes. Winning team receives 6 tickets to Out Front Theatre Company’s 9 to 5 musical, opening this fall! A cast member from the upcoming musical will even stop by and sing one of her hits. WHAT?! AMAZING!

🇺🇸 Hot Dog Eating Competition at 2 pm 🇺🇸

In front of MILLIONS (of pieces of mulch), our 10 competitive eaters will stuff their faces for 10 minutes with 100% beef Frippers dogs. What’s the 2024 number to beat?

1st place with 11 dogs: ‘Stogie Rick’ Hunter Burke (and guess what….HE’S BACK TO DEFEND HIS TITLE!!)

Tied for 2nd place with 10 dogs: ‘Midtown Milk’ Ryan Baill and ‘The Terminator’ Will Harmon



🌭 All American Hotdog Games at 3 pm 🌭

No sign-ups, just show on up. ALL AGES!

3 pm -  Face the Dog

Players: Unlimited 

Ten players at a time line up with a hotdog piece on their forehead. No hands allowed - just wiggle it into your mouth. The first two to succeed move on to the next round. After everyone plays, the top winners face off for the final crown (literally, the prize is a crown). 

3:30 pm - Circle the Dog

Players: Unlimited

All players stand in a line and take turns tossing a ring onto a standing hotdog. Hit it? You’re in! Miss? You're out. Each round, players will take one step back and toss again. Last player standing wins a lifesize gummy hotdog.

4 pm - Hangin’ with the Dogs: 

Players: 6 (picked from the crowd right before the game starts)

Six players compete in this hands-free challenge. Each contestant has a string tied around their waist with a dangling hotdog on the end. No touching - just find a way to shimmy, swivel and wrangle that dog into your mouth. The first one to succeed wins a hotdog pool float!

Rules:

10 minutes long, all you can eat hot dog AND bun.

Buns and hot dogs may be separated and dunked in water or lemonade, both will be provided.

Only entire hot dogs (AND bun) eaten will be counted. Partial hot dogs will NOT be counted.

Vomiting during the contest or up to 1 minute after the contest will result in disqualification.

Contestants must arrive no later than 1 pm to check-in.
